Black Lives Matter

This past week, millions of Americans took to their local streets to peacefully protest and share their outrage, frustration, sadness, and grief over the senseless killing of George Floyd and a much longer history of racial injustice. We also witnessed a smaller number of individuals resort to violence resulting in the destruction of many businesses, injuries, and loss of life.

We condemn racism towards the Black community as well as violence and hate.

Many members of our team connected over the past several days to share ideas and discuss what we, as an organization, could do to stand with our Black employees, customers, and communities. And while we don’t pretend to have all of the answers, we couldn’t remain silent and pretend that everything is ok. Because it is not ok.

To our employees, our customers, our partners, our colleagues, and our friends in the Black community – we see you, we hear you, we will mourn with you, we will fight with you. Black Lives Matter. You matter.

We also realize that words without action won’t drive change. We are prepared to do the work by taking steps to educate ourselves, to have meaningful and sometimes uncomfortable conversations, to acknowledge the privilege that many of us have, and do more to stand with the Black community.

Tealium is matching employee donations to civil rights organizations such as the Equal Justice Initiative and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

One of the biggest things each of us can do to drive change is to vote. And while voting for offices at the national level is important, we cannot forget about our state and local elections that impact our neighborhoods and communities. Are you registered to vote?

In the words of Martin Luther King Jr. “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

We collectively commit to change for the betterment of all of society through peaceful methods.
